Local Democracy Day Packages
Each package is a full day of democracy activities for groups of 30-120 people which gives them the opportunity to:

• Find out how democracy works in different institutions
• Meet and discuss local issues with councillors and decision makers
• Participate in a youth consultation exercise
• Take part in a hypothetical planning role-play

How does it work
When the participants arrive they are split into four groups and then take part in a series of activities in rotation.
These vary from package to package but generally include a performance, an electronic voting workshop, some sort
of mini-consultation and an opportunity to interact with political representatives.

What would I need to do?
We'll do all the work on the day. All the organisers need to do in advance is:
. Invite the participants
. Provide a venue with three suitable spaces
. Provide refreshments
. Ensure a minimum number of councillors attend
(exact number depends on size of event)
